Revoke or Replace SSL Certificates

VeriSign makes it easy to keep track of your SSL Certificates and maintain the security of your online services using the VeriSign® Trust Centre account. You should revoke your SSL Certificate if you suspect any of these conditions:

  • Loss of your private key
  • Compromise of your private key
  • Incorrect information in the certificate
  • Your certificate does not work properly

Why is private key confidentiality important? The private key is used to decipher messages encrypted by your public key. If your private key is compromised, your SSL sessions are not secure. Revocation is free.

To replace a certificate, you will need a new Certificate Signing Request (CSR). A replacement SSL Certificate must have the same Distinguished Name.
